My name is Deb. I’m a Southern girl who moved to Vermont after a messy and perilous mid-life reboot, an American Ballet Theatre-certified classical ballet instructor and former ABT Affiliate teacher, now retired from the classroom and working full time as digital copy editor at Eight Oh Two Marketing. My nearlywed Chef David and I and our shy Goldapeake Retriever Scout recently yanked up our Vermont tap root (his much deeper than mine) to bravely venture all the way down to Wilmington, North Carolina, where Eight Oh Two (or Nine One Oh, if you like) is now headquartered. I launched Sycamore Stories the instant I stepped onto Vermont soil back in 2012, mainly to share true stories about my serendipitous journey to Vermont and my life there; if you click over to it, you’ll get a good idea of my interests when you glance at the category cloud. Early in 2019 I started writing short-form fiction in a series I called Morning Miniatures, a fun little exercise in descriptive writing. Those proclivities continue here at Carolina Thinklings; thanks for stopping by for a look-see. I hope you’ll read and comment—I love hearing from my readers. It’s like that little kick you get when you open your mailbox and find a handwritten letter there. ~Deb
